  • \"Retail\" Asus DRW-24B1ST CD/DVD Burner

adcom32 was the Seller on April 1, 2010 AnandTech

Seller had indicated the drive was only a day old from a retail box that included SATA cable and SW when I had asked about it on 3/18/10. We had agreed to \"cross ship,\" meaning, I send the money order while he send the drive out. I informed seller I had sent the money out on 3/22/10 while he indicated it would be shipped via a small rate box, which typically is USPS Priority, at most 3 days if went out on 3/23/10. Seller confirmed receiving money on 3/25/10, but I hadn\'t received the drive yet. Asked about a tracking number and he gave one that indicated it was shipping to OKLAHOMA. That would\'ve been fine except I live in ILLINOIS. I told him I would return the drive if I didn\'t receive it by 3/31/10, but he begged to wait a few more days and keep the drive. I agreed to wait until 4/2/10, but the drive eventually arrived on 3/30/10. This was its packing:

No wrap, no SATA cable or SW that he said he would include, except for some disc in the drive (which he mentioned earlier). And it didn\'t seem like it was \"only\" a day old as one side of the bezel clip was broken (hard to make out here) and some rattling sound:

    http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a0dd11b3127ccef9e85058533e00000050O08AbMWbVk0Ytge3nwg/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/

In the FS thread, it was listed as \"immaculate condition,\" but it was far from that.

I eventually fixed it with epoxy so the bezel wouldn\'t be flimsy.

Seller claimed to at least send out the SATA cable on 3/30/10, but it\'s 4/2/10 and nothing. Not holding my breath.

Neutral rating because I did receive the drive and seems to be working fine. While I understood he may have had some unexpected family urgency, but he goes on my DNT list due to delays, not including things he agreed to, and disregard for proper packaging.

    [EDIT for REPLY]
True, family always comes first, but you had DAYS to properly include the items and wrap the drive up before sending it out on 3/26/10, which was 4 days later than you agreed to. If forums comes second, then someone else must have had access to your account because you were on it EVERYDAY.

  • I sold him a retail lapped Core 2 Duo E4300 CPU

adcom32 was the Buyer on April 5, 2010 AnandTech

Good deal all around for both parties. We got the initial deal worked out and then it took a few weeks for him to sell some of his stuff and get the $ together for the Money Order. Nevertheless, it came as promised and I cross-shipped him my CPU. He even sent a photo of the MO as proof prior to sending it (without me requesting it).

Glad to be able to help him out and would do another deal with him anytime.
